“I strive to help people use their food choices to improve their health while maintaining (or gaining) a positive relationship with food and eating.”
Hi, I'm Lainey Barclay...
For many years I’ve lived by the philosophy that good health care not only treats illness but cultivates wellness. I believe that medicine should consider the whole person rather than just target disease. These ideas drew me to the practices of nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine and continue to drive my client-centered approach to individualized treatment approaches.
In my nutritional work, I start from the idea that food is meant to be enjoyed. I’m not a fan of “dieting” or overly restrictive food relationships. Food and the habits surrounding it can be powerful medicine. By creating and leveraging positive food relationships you can find the relief you’re looking for.
I first became interested in complementary health care after struggling with frustrating food allergies and abdominal pain. The impact that nutrition and Traditional Chinese Medicine had on these symptoms was so substantial that I shifted gears to pursue a career as a nutritionist, acupuncturist and herbalist. As a result, I find particular joy in using these skills to treat conditions such as autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, digestive and menstrual disorders.
